Liquid rhythm ezdrummer reddit6/9/2023 ![]() So anything EZ drummer has to offer is better than that.īut I basically use it so that I never have to manually program a drum pattern ever again. Go get drunk while the guitarists spend hours trying to chase the tone they had in their bedrooms. You just tracked your songs as quickly as humanly possible, and that was it. I didn't get a choice about what it was going to sound like. 30 years ago, I usually had to arrive at a gig or studio and play someone else's kit. The sounds of the kits doesn't matter much to me. That makes it much easier to identify the issue But what monitors are you using, is your room treated in any way?įeel free to send a clip. Monitoring has been pretty accurate for a while now.įoe a while? I mean, pretty accurate is what everyone likes to believe. The kick will mostly be blending with bass in the low end, which is where you'll have to carefully manage each one's space.Īre you sure your guitar tone is sitting well and it's actually not your guitar and bass tone that need work? What do you mean with doesn't blend with the guitars? The point of the kick being clicky is that you hear it aggressively over the bass and guitar. Terms of click of the kick, modern metal kicks are very clicky and in the demo i don't hear any unusual clickyness. You'll have to find the velocity sweet spot for the snare hit but know that if you're trying to find the uber cannon shot metal snare sound, pretty much all of them are sample aigmented and not achieved with a single snare hit. Save your setup as a Logic template so you don't have to re-do every time. but now you can put any compressor (plug-in or outboard via I/O) on your snare specifically. I always create a drum bus in Logic by routing the output of each of these drum tracks to the bus. You'll have to refer back to the EZ drummer mixer as to what source you left on each EZ drummer output channel in Step 2.įrom here, you can mix in Logic like it was a kit that you tracked yourself. Keep hitting that "+" button until you have all your EZ drummer output channels in the Logic mixer, then re-label them at the bottom of the Logic mixer so you can easily see what's what. Clicking once adds Channel 2 (or 3/4 if in stereo). Clicking the "+" button exposes an additional EZ Drummer output channel in the Logic mixer in order (initially showing only Channel 1 or 1/2 if in stereo). These appear when the channel instrument is multi-output. In the Logic full mixer view now, on the drum track you'll see a little set of +/- buttons by the fader under the level meter. ![]() That's something I may go back and change if it impedes my mix later. I've been using Superior Drummer exclusively lately so I forget if EZ drummer lets you kill bleed (eg: snare bleeding info the hi hat mic). ![]() You may want to skip the EZ drummer effects but you could also mix those if you wanted. For example, get your kick drum alone on one channel, then get your snare drum alone on another (or separate your snare top/bottom on different channels if you like). In the EZ Drummer mixer view, make sure all your drum parts are separated into the output channels that you want to mix with in Logic. EZ drummer has multiple output channels now which you can see in its mixer. If you already created your drum part under a single output instance you'll just have to create a second multi-output instance on another track and transfer your song parts to it before removing the single output one. You'll have to select the multi-output one here. When first adding the EZ-Drummer plug-in to Logic, you'll notice there are two versions in the list.
